Game

A friend tells us that there is a plague of hares on his farm.

We are not sure if the hare season is open or closed, so to be on the safe side we ring the firearms section of the Manx police.

The firearms officer is very helpful: “Well, sir, if you look on the back of your game licence, I think you will find all the game seasons set out.”

Ouch!

The hare season closed three days earlier. The hares are safe for the summer.
